Soaring Heart's Farm has a large garden space that is worked by friends, family and volunteers.
Over half of the food produced is given to the Snohomish Food Bank. Last year over 300 lbs of fresh organic produce was donated.
To date in 2011 we have exceeded that and are over 400lbs!
The produce from Soaring Hearts Farm garden won many awards at the Evergreen State Fair this year. Sweepstakes,
best of show and oustanding exhibitor/creative award for a harvest basket "Food Bank Garden". Entering veggies in
the fair is fun (and work) but also a wonderful way to educate the public about food that grows well in our cool wet
climate. 2011 is officially the year of the Kales. 5 different types of kale were grown...and shown! Over 200lbs of kale went
to food bank. My new personal favorite is Rainbow Lacinato.
